"Our escapade to Cabanas Lamu was nothing short of enchanting! Picture this: a thrilling speedboat ride from Lamu town, zipping across the turquoise waters for a mere 30 minutes until we reached the pristine shores of this 5-star haven. The journey might have been a tad long, but oh boy, it was a tale of adventure worth telling!

Upon our arrival, the radiant Chloe, the Operations Manager, welcomed us with open arms, setting the tone for the lavish experience that awaited. Led to the reception and bar area, we found ourselves in a spacious, cozy haven adorned with swing chairs – a playful touch to the coastal charm. To beat the coastal heat, we indulged in cold, invigorating mocktails that were like a sip of sunshine, instantly rejuvenating our spirits.

Our trip to Cabanas Lamu was nothing short of extraordinary!

Cabanas Lamu, a small boutique hotel boasting 6 cabanas and a villa, can host up to 42 guests. As we strolled through lush greenery, navigating between bushes and palm trees to reach our cabana, the natural synergy with the environment was palpable.

A Swahili-style cabana, crowned with a dry palm roof, concealed a luxury interior with all the trappings a laid-back traveler could dream of. But let's talk about service – it was nothing short of spectacular!

As the Shukran team, we delved into conversations with the staff about tips and how Shukran could enhance the process. Their enthusiasm and engagement were infectious, viewing it as a win-win for the hotel, guests, and themselves.

Post-discussion, a delightful feast awaited us – crispy fries and perfectly fried samosas, accompanied by a zesty sprinkle of lemon. A quick snack that tasted like a culinary masterpiece!

..a paradise for all those who seek it. Get on that plane, get on that boat & go get it.

Before bidding adieu, we stood in awe of the landscape. The Kizingo side of Lamu island, a serene haven with only two hotels, including Cabanas, felt like a hidden gem. Most of the land was embraced by private estates, providing a secluded escape for those with the means to revel in it.

To the uninitiated, it might seem like sheer indulgence, but who wouldn't crave the sight of the Indian Ocean's azure embrace, with the sun casting golden hues on the waves?
